The Leadership To Keep Children Alcohol Free Foundation works to promote conversations regarding childhood drinking--children who are experimenting with alcohol at very young ages--in every state in the Nation.   With over  8000 adolescents initiating use each day, there is an urgency in our mission, because the early adoption of alcohol use on the long-  and short-term safety, health and wellness of youth, their families, and the community is staggering

It is imperative that we generate as much bi-partisan support for efforts to limit youth access to alcohol.  Likewise, it is imperative that we strive to influence youth desire to experiment with, and ultimately, adopt the habitual use of it.  This will take strong leadership in each state and community.  It will require that we all work together to create policies, regulatory practices, consistent enforcement and other environmental strategies to send consistent messages to youth that drinking alcohol before the age of 21 is not only illegal, but bad for one's health and success.   A child that begins to drink before the age of 15 is four times more likely to develop an alcohol addiction than those who do not start till the age of 21 [http://science.education.nih.gov/supplements/nih3/alcohol/guide/info-alcohol.htm].
