WEBSITES ON CHILDHOOD DRINKING

Many of the Leadership Foundation’s participating states have developed websites that focus specifically on childhood or underage drinking. If your state has a website that you’d like to feature, please send an email to webmaster@alcoholfreechildren.org

  • http://www.parentsempowered.org - This website is sponsored by the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and Utah Prevention. It is a website that supports a statewide media and education campaign funded by the Utah Legislature and designed to prevent and reduce underage drinking in Utah by providing parents and guardians with information about the harmful effects of alcohol on the developing teen brain, along with proven skills for preventing underage alcohol use.
  • http://www.strongerinfluence.org - This website is an adult-focused follow-up to “More Than You Think,” Its aim is to  help Hawaii’s parents to “be a stronger influence” for their children and engage in conversation with them about underage drinking. This website and the Stronger Influence campaign are funded through a project of the National Guard Hawaii Counterdrug Support Office (NGHI-CSO). The Counterdrug Support Office is housed at the Department of Defense, Hawaii National Guard. Hawaii National Guard provides counterdrug support to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, and community based organizations.
  • http://www.wfli.org/ - This is the website initiated by First lady Nancy Freudenthal following the Surgeon General’s visit in Wyoming. It is intended to provide factual information and to link systems together to address specifically childhood drinking.
